Happy EU Data Protection Day from the J.DPA
Scribble it into your calendar – GDPR will come into force on 25th May 2018.
Thank you for your interest in the Jersey Data Protection Association, and for attending our launch event in October 2017.
It’s taken longer than we’d hoped to complete the formalities of registering the Association, however we’re delighted to announce that to coincide with EU Data Protection Day, we are now up and running and able to accept membership applications via our website.
As we introduced at the launch, our membership fee will be set at £50 for an organisation, entitling one individual to attend our seminars and events.
Our primary goal is to provide a platform for those responsible or interested in data protection within their respective business, to improve their understanding of data protection through attendance at seminars, formal training and networking events where you will be encouraged to share experiences, concerns or materials which may be of interest to other members across industry.
With this in mind, we have put in place a schedule of seminars, built around hot topics of the GDPR, which will be accessible to all members from February 2018 leading up to 25 May 2018; the day that GDPR comes into force. However, we know that data protection doesn’t stop on that date, and we will continue to poll members on topics that will be of wider interest to them for future events.
Our upcoming events are now showing on our website and once timing/venue has been finalised for each individual event, you’ll be able to register your place.
